The cardamom and cinnamon hit first, then the ginger warms through—it's genuinely balanced, not just spicy for the sake of it. I've tried a lot of loose-leaf chais and this one steeps into something smooth enough to drink black, which is rare for me.
I steeped this for the full five minutes and the ginger heat balanced the cardamom beautifully, no milk needed. The Assam base keeps it strong enough for a morning cup but the spice blend stays round and never bites. Already ordered a second batch.
